Universidad Europea is the only Spanish university and the first European one to be accredited by international associations RIBA and NAAB.
Universidad Europea is committed to driving cutting-edge innovation in the professions of tomorrow. To that end, we offer the most up-to-date and complete architectural training, taught in either Spanish or English. We propose a plan with two levels of learning— a bachelor's degree and a master’s degree—so that when you join the world of work you have a 360-degree view of the field. We believe that completing your training in two stages is fundamental to professional development. You will start out taking your first steps into the architecture universe and the impact it has, to later take the leap and grow as a professional during your master’s degree, with new classmates and teachers who will complete and enrich your learning experience. You will learn by doing, with more than 3,600 hours dedicated to working on projects. This includes guided training in the latest technologies: the BIM methodology, digital fabrication and virtual reality, integrating them into students’ day-to-day in an organic way. The programme also incorporates, for example, sustainability and energy-efficiency issues or landscaping techniques, when relevant for the overall project. You won't need to seek any additional training outside your degree, as the new study plan includes all the latest trends.
Accredited by the NAAB (National Architectural Accrediting Board)
First Private University in Spain to obtain this international seal. We meet the standards established in the USA and Canada, enabling you to work there as an architect upon graduation.
Accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA)
This accreditation certifies that our training is comparable to architecture programmes at universities such as Oxford or Yale. You’ll be able to work as an architect at a British studio, either in the United Kingdom or the Commonwealth.
DIGITAL TOOLS
Integrated training in digital tools across all subjects: BIM Methodology, Drawing, Projects and Urbanism. Work exactly how you’d work in a studio.
TOP-NOTCH FACILITIES
The FIRST BIM LAB on a university campus. Paired with the FAB LAB and the XR LAB, you’ll be able to develop and track your projects at a professional level at every phase.
80
Students, alumni and faculty have received six COAM Prizes, and have held 11 exhibitions at the Venice Biennale and two at Archiprix International.
1
The first Spanish university to integrate the BIM methodology into its study plan and to have a BIM Lab.
2
Work anywhere in the world with a bachelor’s degree backed by RIBA and NAAB certifications.
OUR ACADEMIC MODEL
PROJECT-BASED LEARNING
This experiential learning takes shape through a project-based learning methodology. It is a learning model based on ‘doing’, reflecting on ‘what is done’, and asking ‘what for’ and ‘why’.
In order to effectively teach any discipline in the STEAM field, we use a project-based methodology focused on integrated learning that interrelates scientific and technical knowledge to offer comprehensive professional training.
The development of analytical skills, a scientific mindset and a strong sense of creativity are key in the digital age and the professions of the future.
SIMULATED ENVIRONMENTS
Our classes go where the real world cannot. Thanks to the facilities and technology present in our laboratories and simulated spaces, architecture students take on real-world situations in a controlled, safe and interdisciplinary environment, making them feel more secure and self-confident in their practice.
An example of this is the Building Information Modeling (BIM) classroom, where we work with the BIM methodology that’s become standard across the globe. This methodology facilitates the simulation of every phase of a project’s life cycle (whether related to architecture and/or city planning) to study its behaviour from the perspective of energy, structure, etc.
METHODOLOGY
The HyFlex experiential learning model responds to the digitalisation of higher education with a new educational ecosystem that combines in-person teaching with a virtual classroom in a flexible and frictionless way. In this model, all subjects feature a practical component, an extended classroom and a digital block. Experiential learning forms the basis of this model, in which you will learn by doing with an integrated and multidisciplinary approach that prepares you for a diverse and international world. Experiential learning allows you to acquire the knowledge, competencies and skills needed to thrive in your future profession and tackle any obstacles to social and digital transformation.
DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IN THE CLASSROOM
THE EXTENDED CLASSROOM
The pandemic has transformed the way we teach. For this reason, technology including cameras, microphones and interactive whiteboards is present in all of our classrooms. This allows us to integrate in-person and virtual classrooms to create a new learning environment that facilitates interactions between in-person and remote students and their professors. This is an immersive experience that allows students and professors to fully interact and participate from wherever they may be.
THE VIRTUALISATION OF LEARNING BY DOING
Putting theory into practice doesn’t just take place in our laboratories and simulation spaces, and is complemented by virtual labs and simulations. You’ll have access to specialised software and virtual reality resources that allow you to continue practicing as many times as you like.
DIGITAL BLOCK
A digital space where our students can access additional and complementary training. Students can access digital, exclusive and differential content such as workshops, webinars and interactive resources that are designed by our top professors along with the participation of renowned professionals in the sector.
For professional training of the highest quality, enrol on our master’s degree and acquire the necessary skills to practise as an architect anywhere in the world. Our combined Bachelor’s in Fundamentals of Architecture + Master’s in Architecture has been officially recognised since 20xx. Universidad Europea was one of the first universities to update their study plan in order to be in line with the rest of Europe and the needs of the architect of the future. We’re backed by years of experience, the recognition of all the main international institutions and, most importantly, the satisfaction of our students and everything they’ve accomplished. All of this is the mark of a high-quality education that is specifically designed to train the very best architects. Alumni Pablo Diego Pastor has won first place in the annual ranking of Best Architecture Students in Spain 2020, based on his CV, portfolio, contests and other achievements recognised by the Spanish Society of Academic Excellence (SEDEA).
Universidad Europea offers you a range of laboratories and simulation rooms that are equipped with the most advanced and innovative technologies so that you can fully benefit from our innovative academic model.
More than 3,600 hours of hands-on workshops in which you’ll learn by working on real projects. We have the most innovative and up-to-date proposal for you to prepare to become an architect of the future. Your study plan will integrate all the digital tools and knowledge you’ll need, covered in: BIM Methodology, Drawing, Projects and Urbanism, among others. In addition to Drawing, Projects and Urbanism, we offer integrative workshops across all areas of knowledge relevant to the architecture profession. These workshops account for every possible aspect of a project, starting with the basics and advancing as you progress in the course.

External internship regulations
Internships are a key component of your training. Acquiring experience after what you have learnt in your degree is the best way to enter the employment market. There are two types of internships: curricular—which are included in your study plan—and extracurricular—which you can do on a voluntary basis.
In order to complete curricular internships in companies, you will need to have 50% of the credits approved and to register the subject before starting your internship. These internships are monitored by the company and the internship coordinator, and interim and final reports are prepared for evaluation.
If you want to take your work experience to the next level before finishing your university education, you can pursue an extra-curricular internship. You can do them in any academic year, but keep in mind that internships are a formative complement to your studies; therefore, the more knowledge you have acquired throughout your studies, the more you will benefit from the internship experience.

If architecture is your calling—both in its artistic dimension and in its technical aspect—the Bachelor’s in Fundamentals of Architecture + Master’s in Architecture from Universidad Europea is designed for you.
Studying architecture in Madrid is a big and important decision. Architects are technicians, but also artists. They are people who are innately attuned to the aesthetics of shapes: they are creative and imaginative by nature. Some of these skills can be learned, but others will be intrinsic to the student. You will work on developing and perfecting these during your years of training.
You are eligible to enrol on the Bachelor's in Fundamentals of Architecture + Master’s in Architecture with a high school diploma or equivalent.
