Letter from the Rector
When I assumed the position of Rector of Universidad Europea, I knew that I was facing a passionate challenge for the institution that I have belonged to for many years. As a result, I am fully committed to making this university achieve the greatest possible success. We are getting closer to this goal every day thanks to the challenges we have already overcome and the daily efforts of our entire community. I am proud to lead this great project. I feel passionately about facing this task with total conviction and an understanding of the immense responsibility I bear working at an institution that is at the cutting edge of academic quality and trains the very best.
Our students receive an education that is open to the world, innovative, international and multicultural. Our campus reflects this dynamic spirit by constantly improving. I am taking on this challenge with the satisfaction of representing an extraordinary academic community with a prestigious faculty which stands out for its excellence.
As an example of our community’s efforts, I would like to highlight that the prestigious international rating agency QS Stars—which rates the quality of educational institutions—has recognised the excellence of our faculty, internationality and the employability of our students by granting us a rating on par with that of Cambridge, Oxford or Harvard.
At Universidad Europea, we understand the needs of the current environment and are superbly positioned to prepare the future professionals of a hyper-connected and constantly transforming society—those individuals that are called upon to lead a world that is immersed in technology and digitalisation. This transformation is only possible in an interdisciplinary environment such as our campus, which allows students to immerse themselves in their chosen profession from the outset.
Conscious of today’s professional demands, our students acquire knowledge and develop skills and values following a hands-on learning academic model in an environment connected to the professional world. In this environment, we prioritise personal and professional skills such as leadership, entrepreneurship, teamwork, creativity and ethical commitment—skills that enhance and enrich our graduates’ profiles and train them to work in a globalised, changing environment.
Precisely because our environment is changing, I argue that the University should become a key tool in driving students toward a future filled with certainty. As required by the challenges of 21st-century society, education is taking shape as a natural component of the life plans of each and every one of us. In this sense, I firmly believe that the University is a unique travel companion.
To achieve this, the entire community is working every day to enable Universidad Europea to continue to grow as an institution that eliminates borders, is inclusive and permeable to social changes, and seeks to train global citizens with a multidisciplinary approach and ethical commitment.
We are fully aware that the world needs committed leaders. I would like to use this letter to thank everybody for their constant efforts that make this possible every day.
