Undergraduate, graduate, and advanced vocational training students have already started their classes at Universidad Europea de Madrid and had the opportunity to actively participate in #WelcomeUE18, the welcoming event for new students.
On , September 7, 13, 14 and 17, the Villaviciosa de Odón Campus welcomed the new students, who arrived eager to meet their new classmates and enjoy this new chapter. As soon as they got to the university, the students were welcomed and given a welcome pack. Next, they listened attentively to the professors, who answered all of their questions at the end of the presentation of each degree. After a short break, the togUEther tour began; a route through the Campus, full of surprises, to get to know the facilities and all the opportunities the students have at their fingertips.
Escorted by a guide equipped with a loudspeaker and an umbrella associated with each degree, the new students visited the simulated hospital, the dental laboratory, the auditorium, the cafeteria, the copy service, the library and the sports center, among other places. They briefly stopped at each place, where those in charge outlined the tasks performed and invited them to actively participate in all of the activities organized throughout the year.
On another note, on September 19 the course kickoff party was held, which exceeded all expectations due to its high attendance. The Meet togUEther fair, with its many stands, was held on the esplanade between buildings B and C. Students, faculty, and staff from different areas of the university all participated in the fair. On top of that, all the students that filled out their card were given a backpack with the fair’s logo on it, as a souvenir of this day, packed full of music performances. Two raffles were also held, for students and employees, with tickets for the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium to enjoy a Real Madrid match.
The most-voted stand was “Your Campus, Much More,” starring Universidad Europea’s clinics. The stand won a check to donate to the NGOs Chazon and Proactiva Open Arms. The students participating in the fair (clubs, associations, and delegation) received another check, which in this case, they presented to the NGO Juegaterapia, which helps children suffering from cancer.
Similarly, the Alcobendas Campus held their welcoming events on September 13 and 17. In this case, the course kickoff party was held on September 21, and at the Meet togUEther fair, the students had the opportunity to get to know the student clubs and all the areas of the university as they enjoyed delicious cupcakes for breakfast. In this creative and fun way, they got to know their new classmates and started off the year with a bang.
