BusinessLab is an initiative of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication that applies the Challenge Based Learning approach in the field of business and economics. In this academic environment, real companies present current challenges to our students, involving over 30 professors from various areas of knowledge. Our goal is to promote the generation of innovative initiatives by students, making an impact across all degree programs.
In 2023 we have collaborated with more than 30 organisations that have proposed challenges to us, including:

NTT Data Challenge
Students from over 20 different nationalities enrolled in the International Business degree at the Universidad Europea participated in an activity within the framework of the Business Lab. Students identified the attributes and strengths of the multinational consulting company NTT DATA Europe & Latam as an employer and analysed the implementation of their #EmployerBranding strategy. They presented and discussed their findings with NTT DATA professionals Ruth Emo Marty, Head of Employer Branding at NTT DATA Spain; Wendell Ramada, Head of Internal Communication at NTT DATA Americas; and Alessandro Scarfia, Employer Branding at NTT DATA Spain.
Guided by a teaching team specialised in the CBL methodology, the students solve challenges organised in two ways: concurrent and sequential. In the first approach, different subjects work in tandem to solve different aspects of the challenge. In the sequential approach, groups of students pass on the necessary information to the following groups to ensure the successful completion of the task. In both cases, a joint final presentation is made to the company executives who provide their feedback on the proposed innovations.
In total, more than twenty professors at the Universidad Europea de Madrid routinely engage in consultancy projects for companies in their respective subjects, primarily in the Business area but also including Education, Marketing, Communication, Advertising, Pharmacy, Sports Science, and more.
