MODULE IX: End of Master Thesis Project



The development of the End of Master Thesis Project will take place in a group, using as a basis the knowledge acquired during the different modules and the professional internships. Students will always be guided by their tutor and evaluated by a panel.

Internships are a key component of your training. Acquiring experience after what you have learnt in your degree programme is the best way to enter the employment market. There are two types of internships: curricular—which are included in your study plan—and extracurricular—which you can do on a voluntary basis.

In order to complete curricular internships in companies, you will need to have 50% of the credits approved and to register the subject before starting your internship. These internships are monitored by the company and the internship coordinator, and they are evaluated by midterm and final reports.

If you want to take your work experience to the next level before finishing your university education, you can pursue an extracurricular internship. You can do them in any academic year, but keep in mind that internships are a formative complement to your studies; therefore, the more knowledge you have acquired throughout your studies, the more you will benefit from the internship experience.

Professional Internships

You will complete professional internships with companies in the sector. These internships are part of the academic programme and will be evaluated as part of each student’s training in business management. Professional internships are a unique opportunity for students to put the theory and skills they develop on the master’s into practice at real companies.

Official Spanish university degree or other degree issued by a higher education centre belonging to another country in the European Higher Education Area.

Degrees issued in accordance with educational systems outside the European Higher Education Area do not need to be officially recognised, as long as the University can ascertain that the level of study is equivalent to the corresponding official university degree in Spain and allows access in the home country to postgraduate studies. Access through this channel is not, in any case, an official recognition of the previous university degree in Spain nor is it recognising anything other than access to this master’s degree.

Programme Director. A doctor in economics and business, Javier holds an Executive MBA from IESE and is a telecommunications engineer. The founder of several entrepreneurial initiatives, he combines his role as a consultant and general manager of companies with his teaching and research work.

Dr. Pablo Esteban PhD.

Professor of the accounting and finance module, Pablo holds a doctorate cum laude in business financial economics and a bachelor’s in economics and business. With a degree in advanced studies and research proficiency in financial economics of the company program of management development, he is currently a Representative and Director of the Office in Spain of the Province of Buenos Aires Bank and is Vice-President of the Spanish Association of Foreign Banks Representatives. Previously, he was the director of EBN Bank.

  • Dr. Jorge Lopez Cifre PhD.
    With a PhD in economics, a master’s in control and strategic planning, general management and several postgraduate programmes. He has more than 25 years of experience in the private sector and has held a range of management and consultant positions. Previously, he was the general manager of a hydrocolloid company, and created a business network covering all five continents.
  • Dr Patricia Soriano PhD.
    With a PhD in economics and business and over 15 years working for the Big Four, her research areas include: Big Data applied to the world of transactions and financial analysis of annual accounts. In the professional field, she began her career as an auditor at Deloitte. She currently works in EY in the Transaction Advisory Services department, where she is dedicated to financial control/tracking, productivity analysis and customer allocation and CRM management.
  • Dr. Ángel Andreu PhD.
    With a PhD, Dr. Andreu is currently an advisor to industrial and manufacturing companies (INHISA group). He leads the advising, implementation and launch of technological projects and market development for various companies (A2A Solutions). He has been a director in the private and public sector (INI, European Commission-DG XXIII, Inespal group, Foarsa, Sodican) in national, international or corporate positions (PwC SCG, Lucas Varity Corp, Yves Rocher, Office Depot).
  • Carlos Andreu PhD.
    With a PhD, a Master’s in Engineering. Executive PDG, and Executive Master in Sales and Marketing, Dr. Andreu is an international executive in marketing, sales, and business development in high tech corporations. He has worked as general manager, CEO and international executive VP in high tech, IT, telecom and consulting services in Europe, USA and LATAM.
  • Alejandro de Pablo Cabrera PhD.
    With a PhD Cum Laude in business, he is mentor and advisor for entrepreneurs. His professional experience spans more than 25 years working at national and multinational companies like Coca-Cola, Disney, Grupo Prisa mainly in the areas of marketing, sales and business development.
  • Lucía Andaluz Antón PhD.
    PhD. in Biomedicine and Health Sciences from the European University of Madrid (UEM). Journalist specializing in Radio from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication at the European University of Madrid. Master's Degree in Digital Journalism and Social Networks (UEM) and Advanced Technician in Audiovisual and Show Audiovisual and Entertainment (CES). She has developed her professional work in audiovisual media such as MediasetEspaña. She is currently working as a teaching at the Faculty of CC. Social Sciences and Communication at the Universidad Europea de Madrid and she is the Coordinator of the internships for postgraduate degrees.
