How this financial aid works

Any undergraduate or advanced technical studies (CFGS) students who meet the requirements established in the present regulations can apply for Universidad Europea’s financial aid for continuing studies due to the death of the person financially responsible for them, whether they are applying for this aid for the first time or wish to renew it if it was granted during previous academic years.

1 - FIRST-TIME AID APPLICANTS:

This applies to students enrolled in an undergraduate or advanced technical studies (CFGS) programme at Universidad Europea Madrid and who suffer the loss of the person financially responsible for them.

Applications can be submitted at any time during the school year following the death of this person.

This financial aid will cover:

  • All tuition for credits in which the student is enrolled and pending payment at the time of the application, so long as the application is submitted before  1 March.
  • All tuition for credits in which the student is enrolled and pending payment at the time of the application, as well as all academic expenses (reservation deposit and tuition for credits in which the student is enrolled) for the academic year following the request, in the event that the request is submitted subsequent to 1 March.

2 - FINANCIAL AID RENEWAL APPLICANTS

This applies to students who benefited from financial aid for continuing studies due to the death of the person financially responsible for them during a previous academic year.

Applications open on 15 June and close on 14 July.

This financial aid shall cover all academic expenses (reservation deposit and tuition for credits in which the student is enrolled) for the academic year for which the renewal is being requested.

1- FIRST-TIME APPLICANTS:

  • Application forms and these regulations are available to applicants on the University’s website in the Student Services section.
  • Applications can be submitted at any time during the academic year year following the death of the person financially responsible for the student.
  • Applications must include a photocopy of the death certificate of the person financially responsible for the student. Applications which are not accompanied by this document shall not not be accepted.
  • Applications must be submitted to the Student Services Department of Universidad Europea Madrid.

2 - FINANCIAL AID RENEWAL APPLICANTS AT UNIVERSIDAD EUROPEA MADRID:

  • The University shall publish its call for scholarship and financial aid applications on an annual basis for each school year prior to the month of June. It shall be public and widely advertised, and shall be published on the website of Universidad Europea Madrid. Furthermore, eligible students shall be informed by the Student Services Department.
  • Application forms and these regulations are available to applicants on the University’s website in the Student Services section.
  • The application period opens on 15 June (when applicable, on the following business day) and closes on 14 July (when applicable, on the following business day).
  • If a student is applying for aid for the first time, the request must be accompanied by an income tax declaration for all members of the family unit. Applications that are missing any required information or documents or which are not received by the established deadlines shall not be accepted.

Applicants for financial aid for continuing studies due to the death of the person financially responsible for them must meet the criteria established in the present regulations.

1 - FIRST-TIME APPLICANTS:

Students who meet the following requirements can apply for this aid:

  • Those registered in an official undergraduate or advanced technical studies (CFGS) degree at Universidad Europea de Madrid at the time of the death of the person financially responsible for them.
  • Students up to 30 years of age at the time that the death of the person financially responsible for them occurs.
  • Age of the financially responsible person: up to 70 years of age at the time the death occurs.

2 - FINANCIAL AID RENEWAL APPLICANTS AT UNIVERSIDAD EUROPEA MADRID:

The Scholarship Committee shall evaluate the academic performance of all applicants by looking at their academic records. As a result, aid recipients who wish to renew their financial aid for the following academic year must meet the following criteria:

  • They must have received a passing grade for all courses taken during the last academic year completed.
  • They must have studied a minimum of 30 ECTS credits during the previous school year.
  • For students who applied for financial aid for the first time prior to 1 March of the previous school year, the academic performance report requested by the Scholarship Committee from the corresponding Academic Coordinator shall be taken into account.
