“HR Excellence in Research” Seal

In March 2020, Universidad Europea de Madrid signed and submitted to the European Commission its declaration of commitment to the principles of the ‘European Charter for Researchers’ and the ‘Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers’.

The HRS4R strategy is a European Commission tool launched to support universities, research institutions and research-funding organisations in their application of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, with the aim of contributing to the development of an attractive employment market for researchers in Europe.

The Charter and the Code of Conduct are Commission recommendations to member states, which they are invited to implement voluntarily.

  • European Charter for Researchers: The European Charter for Researchers is a set of general principles and requirements which define the roles, responsibilities and rights of researchers, employers and funding providers.
  • Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers: The Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, which does not differ greatly from the standard rules which govern recruitment, underlines the importance of open and transparent recruitment procedures, and of diverse and experienced recruitment committees.

In accordance with its internal policies, the entity is also committed to developing its HR strategy in adherence to the recommendations set out in the Charter and the Code, and to guarantee transparency, accessibility, equality, and the search for excellence in recruitment.
