Europea Media

Europea Media is the collection of University media (digital press, radio, and television) run by members of the School of Social Sciences and Communication.

Academically, these media are part of a lab for hands-on learning for students in journalism, communication, and related fields. The students in the lab produce content—informative, audiovisual, political, sports-related, and cultural—in different multimedia formats under the guidance of professors and the Media Lab professionals.

In line with the School’s academic model, students participate in real event coverage, projects, and information/tech challenges. Europea Media also produces and offers information to the University community and society as a whole, and promotes the activities that go on both in the School and the University at large.

Legal Clinic

Our students develop legal skills from day one through the Legal Clinic. Through this training laboratory, we bring legal practice closer to the students. To do this, we have trials every month, in real life, supported not only by our practising faculty, but also by inviting leading professionals from the legal field, and using our Courtroom in Building E of the Villaviciosa de Odón Campus. Our students can participate in more than a dozen legal challenges, practices and simulations, as well as different practical cases. In addition, thanks to the Legal Clinic, undergraduate and postgraduate students, advised and guided by professors and lawyers, offer pro-bono legal services to various institutions and organisations.

These actions are reinforced by visits to court trials, visits to prisons, major courts, etc., and by organising training seminars with professionals from the judiciary or the private practice of law. Visits are made to important institutions. We are part of the National Network of Legal Clinics and the International Network of Legal Clinics, participating periodically in the National Meeting.

Crimi Lab

CrimiLab is an educational laboratory specialising in Criminology, designed to promote comprehensive education and connect this discipline with other areas of the European University. This interdisciplinary space allows Criminology students to collaborate and learn alongside other future professionals, strengthening both their technical knowledge and their sense of civic responsibility.

CrimiLab also promotes the construction of a collective professional identity, developed through collaborative projects where students analyse and research in depth issues beyond the crime scene. This laboratory becomes a meeting point between students, teachers and professionals, where innovative training actions arise, aligned with the principles of the Academic approach of the European University, contributing to the Competencies development essential for their professional future.

Moot Court

A moot court is a mock trial in which two teams represent fictitious parties in a case. In most moot courts, each team assumes both roles, preparing and presenting both the claim and the defence. Finally, the teams present their arguments in the oral phase in front of a moot court, thus developing their skills in litigation and argumentation.

You will also be able to participate in competitions with other universities from all over the world, on a legal topic of international law, in one of the teams representing our faculty in the Moot Courts that are held internationally.
