Nursing Training Classroom

Nursing Training Classroom for students to achieve their preclinical developmental objectives.

Multipurpose work spaces

In this classroom, there three different multipurpose work spaces that are adapted to the programme and courses being studied.

Objective

The objective of the Nursing Training Classroom is for the students to acquire the necessary skills, practical knowledge and self-confidence in a simulated environment before caring for real patients. Ultimately, to increase students’ practical knowledge by placing the key tools and technology within their reach.

These facilities are specifically designed for students in the Bachelor’s in Nursing programme. Students use the facilities for practical work in the following courses:

Processes and Basic Care
Care for Health Disorders I
Care for Health Disorders II
Care for Health Disorders III
Care for Women, Care for the Elderly
Care for Children and Adolescents
Care for Critical Situations

They are also used in postgraduate courses in the field.

The spaces found within the Nursing Training Classroom are divided into:

Hospitalisation Room

Containing two hospital beds and all of the associated equipment and tools.

Critical Patient Box

Contains an advanced simulation dummy with the necessary technology and equipment to reproduce situations and train a wide range of nursing techniques.

Classroom

Where the pre-practical classes are given, to later apply the acquired knowledge in the laboratories. The laboratory practices will be observed and evaluated in the classroom.

Examples of skills acquired:

Operating room skills: surgical scrubbing, sterilising materials, instruments, etc.
Maternal and infant skills: birth simulation dummy.
Surgical skills: bandages, immobilisations, sutures and minor surgery.
Low-tech simulation: plastic or synthetic dummies used for the acquisition of technical skills, manoeuvres or simple procedures.
