Maud Menten Chemistry Laboratory

The Maud Menten Laboratory (C302) is part of the Faculty of Biomedical and Health Sciences. It is a General Chemical and Analytical Instrumentation Laboratory that is approximately 90 m2. It is adapted and equipped for learning general chemistry concepts, as well as basic chemical analysis techniques and instrumental techniques.

The Maud Menten Chemistry Laboratory is the perfect environment to carry out experimental practices related to the field of chemistry.

Thanks to the analytical instrumentation present, this laboratory is used by research groups from Universidad Europea de Madrid.

The C302 Laboratory is available to pharmacy, biotechnology and nutrition professors and students for  the courses related to the Chemistry module present in the different bachelor's programmes. The basic techniques of chemical analysis are taught in this laboratory with the guidelines required for each degree.

Analytical instrumentation available:

• HPLC Chromatograph with diode array detector
• Gas Chromatograph with FID detector
• 2 UV-visible cuvette and plate spectrophotometers.
• Rotary evaporators—heating-stirring plates
• pH-meters, thermostatic baths, analytical scales
• 1 computer station equipped with software.
• 3 calorimeters.
• 1 calorimetric pump.
