In this workshop, students work on projects in the fields of architectural construction, industrial design using ceramic, industrial design using iron and design projects using glass. The lab is related to all degrees in Architecture and Design. The lab is also used for the developing models and finishes for students in the Qualifying Master’s Degree in Architecture. Finally, it is also used for activities related to the Aeronautics Club and the Formula UEM Club.
This laboratory seeks to combine theory and practice, adapting its activities and projects to the different subjects’ study plans to enhance the overall academic offering. It also aims to develop our students’ capacity for self-management and leadership within the realm of systems and resources—both material and human.
We can define this space as a workshop where students do real work using their knowledge and learnings in design, which is difficult to develop in a purely theoretical manner.
The Manual Fabrication Workshop is composed of a large area divided into different zones where students can work on projects related to the theory learned in the classroom.
