UEmprendedores to launch its second edition on 23 January with 21 projects and 55 entrepreneurs involved
The European University has been recognised for its firm commitment to entrepreneurship and knowledge transfer in the field of higher education thanks to the UEmprendedores Programme, launched by the Employability & Entrepreneurship Unit and Fundación Universidad Europea, with the support of Santander Universities.
The international jury, made up of 21 evaluators specialised in university entrepreneurship, from countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain, Mexico, Peru and Portugal, recognised the UEmprendedores programme in the first edition of the MetaRed X International Emprende Award. A total of 63 universities and 71 programmes were submitted for the awards, of which there was one winning project and four honourable mentions.
The success of the first edition of the UEmprendedores programme has enabled the project to continue, with 21 projects and 55 entrepreneurs involved in its second edition. In its onboadring event to be held on 23 January, Start UEmprendedores, the Institution will enjoy the presence of the participants, the network of professional mentors who will provide individualised support to the entrepreneurs of the new edition, and renowned entrepreneurs such as Darío Méndez Fernández, co-founder of El Tenedor, entrepreneur, investor and startup mentor, included in UEmprendedores; and Ayim Manuel de la Fuente, alumni of the European University and the UEmprendedores programme, co-founder of Vulkano Engineering.
The UEmprendedores programme helps to promote the development of entrepreneurial projects to foster new opportunities for professional development and encourage entrepreneurial culture. For six months, participants receive specific training to transmit business creation techniques and improve transversal skills linked to project management, individual advice to ensure the development of each project according to real needs, financial prizes to help the most innovative projects with the greatest potential for scalability get off the ground, and events to encourage the entrepreneurial community and promote networking.
