More recognition for Universidad Europea de Valencia
Its rector, Rosa Sanchidrián, received the ‘University Teaching Woman’ award from Irene Alegría, at the gala held at the Caixa Forum in Valencia, as part of the 3rd edition of the Acción Docente 10 awards under the auspices of Insnovae.
‘I have been at Universidad Europea for 30 years, where innovation has always been one of our pillars and has always pushed us to go further. We have always researched what we do, teaching, to be a reference at all times and to offer our students a differentiating model that strengthens their teaching-learning process. When you create a culture of excellence where innovation is in your DNA, it is contagious and inspires everyone in the organisation and it surprises you how each department contributes value with a differentiation strategy. As a university, we have been a benchmark for more than 25 years, working systematically on knowledge, competencies and values. Anticipating what was to come, and the same has happened with the use of technology and now with AI.
Rosa Sanchidrián holds a PhD in Economics with a line of research in the Economics of Education, and is also a member of the permanent commission of the Valencian Community School Council. In 1999 she moved from the financial sector to the education sector, and she considers it the best sector to lead a social change where one can learn and contribute to society every day. Sanchidrián has always worked for the modernisation of Education and on receiving the award she expressed her satisfaction and gratitude, stressing that for her ‘it is a great recognition of all the teaching and research work that I have been able to develop at Universidad Europea. I enjoy the easy and the difficult part of my job and now we have great challenges at all levels of education’. She also thanked the inspectors for their crucial role and how they adapt so that we have an education system that should be a benchmark, ‘because you have a great responsibility to promote the improvement of each centre, share experiences, provide guidance on their methodological needs, attention to diversity and with your efforts, I am sure that the IA helps us to devote more time to this accompaniment’.
In addition to the category ‘Woman Teacher at the University’, there were 4 other categories: Elsa Punset received the award in the category ‘Woman Educational Educator’; the Municipal de Campanar received the award in the category ‘Municipal Education’; Jesús García, Salvador Valle and Antonio Sevilla received the award in the category ‘Education Inspectors’. The prize in the category ‘175th Anniversary of the Inspectorate’ went to the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training and Sports.
