Lines 510 A and 532 have already begun to run between the Villaviciosa de Odón campus and Colonia Jardín on a route with fewer stops and greater frequency.
Since Monday, November 27, the new commitment to sustainability and the use of public transport at Universidad Europea is in operation. Following an agreement between the University, the Transport Consortium of the Community of Madrid and the City Council of Villaviciosa de Odón, workers and students can now take the municipal buses inside the campus.
Lines 510 A and 532 cross the campus to go to and from Madrid in a shorter, more direct route and with a frequency of between 15 and 20 minutes between bus and bus. Imanol Fernández, Councilor for Housing, Transportation, Mobility and Citizen Services; and Elia Cambón, Vice Rector for Students and University Life of the Universidad Europea; have witnessed the first departures and arrivals of passengers.
For the vice-rector, this service "is very beneficial for the institution and the residents of Villaviciosa de Odón, as our students and employees will be able to connect more easily and quickly with the capital and the residents of Villaviciosa de Odón will notice fewer passengers on their buses". Cambón also wanted to recall the University's commitment to the environment: "Our commitment to the promotion of public transport helps to offset the carbon footprint of our activity, promoting our campus model, increasingly healthy and sustainable".
In a journey of just over 10 minutes, public transport users of the Universidad Europea can establish a connection from the campus to Colonia Jardín, which offers multiple mobility opportunities, as it is the nexus of different bus lines, metro line 10 and light rail lines 2 and 3.
