Associate Professor
José Luis Alonso holds a Ph.D. in pain management and treatment from URJC. A graduate in Physiotherapy, he is a professor of Orthopedic Manual Therapy in the Physiotherapy degree program and the Master's Degree in Orthopedic Manual Therapy in Pain Treatment, which he has directed for the past 15 years.
Currently, he is the Vice Dean of Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, and Occupational Therapy at the Faculty of Medicine, Health, and Sport. He is the director of the Musculoskeletal Pain and Motor Control research group at UEM and UEC, where his main research focuses on interdisciplinary pain treatment. His professional practice takes place at Onelife Center, where he has been CEO since 2016.
He has received the European Medal for Merit at Work, the Gold Medal for Humanitarian Merit from the Ilustre Academia de Ciencias de la Salud Ramón y Cajal, and the Gold Medal in Recognition of Professional Work and Commitment to Excellence.
