Dra. María Paz Serrano Regal

María Paz Serrano is a professor in the Departamento de Rehabilitación at the Facultad de Ciencias y Actividad Física y el Deporte. She holds a degree in Biology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a master's in Neuroscience from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and a PhD in Neurosciences from Universidad del País Vasco (UPV/EHU).
During her thesis, she specialized in the biology of oligodendrocytes and myelination. She completed a postdoctoral stay at the Hospital Nacional de Parapléjicos de Toledo, researching multiple sclerosis.
She teaches the first-year courses Structure and Function of the Human Body: Systems (I and II) in the CAFYD and Physiotherapy degree programs. She is the author of eight scientific articles and one book chapter, has participated in a total of nine research projects, and has contributed to 21 national and international conferences.
