This study investigates (a) the relationship between character strengths, passion, and resilience in a sample of passionate Spanish athletes (elite, federated, and recreational), and (b) whether passion for sports mediates the relationship between character strengths and resilience.
Description of theoretical foundations, our adaptation to the sports world, and the development of the strengths clover grouped into four values.
This study reviews previous theories and research on character strengths, passion, resilience, and satisfaction, with a particular focus on the sports field. Based on this review, an exploratory study was designed to examine character strengths and their relationship with resilience and personal satisfaction in passionate athletes from different levels of sports dedication (recreational, federated, and elite).
