Knowledges
  • CON1 - To define the fundamental elements that support and condition the international economic and business processes and determine the different stages that make up the latter: planning, organisation, management and evaluation.
  • CON2 - To distinguish the phenomena and agents that affect the social and political environment in the different international scenarios, including the role of international economic bodies, international cooperation agencies and organisations and the economic aspects of globalisation associated to the processes of internationalisation of companies, foreign trade and the global economy.
  • CON3 - To identify the basic concepts and instruments available in the business management environment, including those related to the specific áreas of transnational companies such as marketing and commercial and production management, business and financial administration, distribution and logistics, and human resources and human capital management.
  • CON4 - To recognise the key environments that affect the strategic business decision-making process at an international level, including micro and macroeconomic parameters, geopolitical, cultural and social conditioning factors, as well as the requirements derived from business ethics, corporate social responsibility and economic and environmental sustainability.

External internship regulations

External internship regulations ‘Internships are a key component of your training. Acquiring experience after what you have learnt in your degree is the best way to enter the employment market. There are two types of internships: curricular—which are included in your study plan—and extracurricular—which you can do on a voluntary basis.

In order to complete curricular internships in companies, you will need to have 50% of the credits approved and to register the subject before starting your internship. These internships are monitored by the company and the internship coordinator, and interim and final reports are prepared for evaluation.

If you want to take your work experience to the next level before finishing your university education, you can pursue an extra-curricular internship. You can do them in any academic year, but keep in mind that internships are a formative complement to your studies; therefore, the more knowledge you have acquired throughout your studies, the more you will benefit from the internship experience.

  • Jesús Muñoz Sepúlveda
    PHD in Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid. He has more than 10 years of teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate level in different educational institutions. He has participated in several national and international competitive research projects. Speaker at national and international scientific conferences. He is currently Degree Coordinator of the Degree in Business Administration and Management at the European University of Madrid.
  • Janaina Telles Lima
    PhD in Law from the University of Alcalá. Researcher, professor and lawyer. Her career is specialized in Labor and Social Security Law. In addition to her orientation in Labor Law, she has also specialized in Corporate Law. In the last 10 years she has focused on gender issues.
  • Javier Navarro Martínez
    Business consultant specialized in company acquisitions, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), company valuations and investment analysis. Professional in the logistics and transport sector, with experience in the sector at a commercial, technical-operational and management level. He holds an Executive MBA from IE Business School, a Master (MSc) in Maritime Economics and Logistics (MEL) from Erasmus University Rotterdam, and a degree in Civil Navy and Captain of the Merchant Navy.
  • Luis Lacalle
    PhD. in Economics from UEM. He has collaborated as a consultant for the World Bank, in Equatorial Guinea, and has taught different areas of knowledge in countries such as Guatemala, Cyprus, Belgium and the United States. He is also an independent consultant in the field of training and has previously worked in several companies in the financial industry such as Banco Santander, Barclays Bank or Bankia, performing both commercial and stock market operations. Between 2005 and 2008 he founded the online travel agency Portal Agencias De Viajes SL, a wholesale and retail company, in which he was the founder, majority shareholder and CFO.
  • William Hongsong Wang
    PhD in Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid.
    He has published more than 10 articles in indexed journals (both JCR and Scopus).
    He is a specialist in entrepreneurship, development economics, history of economic thought, economic history and public policy (especially energy economics).
  • Asaf Levi
    PhD in Physics from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. Mentor professor of the Cryptoclub and coordinator of the Digital Lab. He combines his teaching activity with his work as a consultant. He has professional experience as an entrepreneur, having participated in the management committee of several companies. He has also worked with foundations, MSMEs and entrepreneurs in different countries to develop activities related to digitalization and economic planning.
  • Gloria Canales
    M.A. in Economics from Florida International University, Miami, USA; Doctorate studies in Economics at Florida International University, Miami, USA. Master in Public Sector Economics from Pontificia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Extensive teaching experience in Economics and Business at universities in Peru, Brazil, USA, UK and Spain. Areas of specialization: International Trade, Global Economics and Environmental Economics. In the professional field: consultancies to the private sector in market research. Senior Consultant in the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Peru in the Investment sector.
  • Ivan Hilliard
    Professor of Business Organization at the European University of Madrid and accredited as Associate Professor by ANECA. He teaches in the degrees of International Business and International Relations.
    He has published more than 20 publications and book chapters, and is the author of the book Coherency Management, which focuses on the need for a holistic approach to CSR management.
    He has participated in several European research projects in the field of tourism, and is the coordinator of the Spanish team in these projects. He has also participated in a World Bank project in Equatorial Guinea. He is founder and CEO of the company Gourmad Food 2020 SL.
  • Ahmed Bakri Bakri
    PhD in Accounting and Business Finance with more than 14 years of teaching experience. University professor at the European University of Madrid and Les Roches International School of Hotel Management in Marbella, and former professor at the Lebanese International University (LIU). He completed his PhD at the University of Dundee, Scotland, UK with his thesis "Capital Investment Appraisal: The Case of Lebanon" and his Master's degree in International Finance at the same University. At the Lebanese International University (LIU) he was also head of the Banking and Finance Department at nine campuses. He has published several articles in newspapers and magazines on financial markets, investment and sustainable development. In the industrial sector, he worked as a financial analyst at Bimco Car Sales. In addition, he is a specialist in the real estate market and a consultant in foreign exchange trading.
  • Verónica Baena García
    She has supervised 8 doctoral theses. Her research has been published in 10 books, 19 book chapters, more than 50 articles in scientific journals (indexed as JCR or JSR) and more than 70 papers in scientific congresses. He has received numerous awards. The most recent, the 2016 David Wilson Award for Excellence in Teaching and Learning and the 2017 AEDEM Best Paper in Competency and Collaborative Learning in Higher Education. In 2022 she has been included in the list of "The best Spanish and foreign researchers in Spain according to Scholar Google" (ranking prepared by the Spanish Government's Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) based on the H-index and number of citations received).
  • Laura Juarez Postigo
    PhD in Economics and Business. More than 13 years as a university lecturer. She combines her teaching work with that of marketing and place branding consultant.
  • Luis Fernando Gracia Sarubbi
    PhD in Economics and Business. More than 15 years of teaching experience at different educational levels. Specialist in management and project management with a high international and relational component. He has a long experience as general manager of a family business.
  • Felipe Graeml Reis
    PhD in Production Engineering. More than fifteen years of teaching experience at different educational levels. Extensive experience as a university professor. More than 5 years as general manager of a company. Experience in consulting. Experience in project management in small and large companies.
  • Asaf Levi Alfaroviz
    PhD in Physics. One and a half year experience as a university teacher. Coordinator of Innovation Management and Complex Problem Solving. Teaches subjects in Spanish and English. Mentor professor of the Cryptoclub. Coordinator of the Digital Lab. He has a long experience as an entrepreneur and has participated in the management committee of several companies. He has worked with foundations, SMEs and entrepreneurs in different countries in the digitization of their business and economic planning.   • Christian Schneider
    PhD in Economics. More than 10 years of teaching experience at different educational levels. More than one year of experience as a university lecturer, teaching finance I, financial economics, and international sources of financing. More than 10 years of experience as an organizer of private conferences on different topics related to economics and science.
  • Hongsong Wang
    PhD in Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid. More than one year of experience as a university professor and more than three years of experience as a private tutor in economics. He is a financial analyst. He currently combines his teaching activity with that of research director of the Foundation for the Advancement of Freedom, a Spanish think tank on economic policy.
  • Guillermo Martínez Jiménez
    Degree in Law and Business Administration and Management from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Master and PhD in Socioeconomic Dimensions of the Environment from the same university. Master's Degree in Teacher Training for Secondary Education, Baccalaureate and Vocational Training from the European University of Madrid. He has worked as an accountant and legal advisor in third sector organizations. Research interests: European Union environmental law and environmental economics".
  • Diego Bravo De Urquía
    He has extensive professional experience in marketing, advertising, strategy and management. He has worked in several countries, in FMCG, record companies, consulting and advertising, and has known Silicon Valley startups from the inside. He has carried out several projects as an entrepreneur, and has more than 12 years of teaching experience at the university level.
    With a restless nature, he draws inspiration from diverse sources - from academia to the performing arts - to broaden his perspectives and share his knowledge.
  • Elena Pérez Lagüela
    PhD in Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid. Her area of specialization is Development Economics. Elena has been a visiting researcher at SOAS, University of London (2019).
    Previously, she has been a researcher and lecturer at the Complutense University of Madrid and, outside the university environment, Elena has worked for the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas, for the Financial Times and for the Spanish Embassy in the UK. She also has experience in the private sector (EUDE Business School) and in the third sector (FUHEM, Economists without Borders).
  • Almudena Rodriguez Tarodo
    PhD in Communication Sciences (Marketing). Area of specialization Human Resources and Management Skills.
    More than 12 years of teaching experience in undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
    30 years of professional experience in Human Resources, Communication and Marketing with executive responsibilities in Banco Santander, Indra, Amadeus, Dircom and Ogilvy. Currently combines teaching with consulting.

Universidad Europea has established an internal quality control system in accordance with the directives of the Fundación para el Conocimiento Madri+d, Regional Agency for the Evaluation of the Quality of Universities, as a structure for guaranteeing the quality of new degrees in accordance with the quality directives of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and Organic Law 4/2007 of 12 April modifying Organic Law 6/2001 of 21 December on Universities.
