Universidad Europea and IVI launch the Master's Degree in Biology and Technology for Assisted Human Reproduction

19 may 2016

Universidad Europea and the Instituto Valenciano de Infertilidad (IVI) have signed a collaboration agreement to develop the Master's Degree in Biology and Technology for Assisted Human Reproduction, a continuation of their existing collaboration for carrying out various research, development and scientific innovation projects.

According to World Health Organization estimates, there are 50 million unfertile couples in the world. Today's lifestyles, in conjunction with environmental factors such as pollution and choosing to delay conception, are the main risk factors for infertility.

Since the 1970s, biomedical research and clinical medicine have been aware of this important challenge to modern societies and have fostered a real revolution in this field, developing new techniques and implementing complementary procedures to increase the effectiveness and safety of the treatments. Spain is currently the third European country in terms of volume of treatments, and has centers carrying out top-level clinical care and basic research.

All this lies behind the growing demand for well-trained professionals in the field of assisted human reproduction. That is why the Universidad Europea and IVI have launched the Master's Degree in Biology and Technology for Assisted Human Reproduction. The degree features a program specifically designed to meet this growing demand, with the best professionals, and students receiving many hours of practical training (500 hours).
