The CRAI Library's mission will be to provide all members of the university community with a quality service that meets their training, information and documentation needs in the development of their activities.
It will provide users with information on all bibliographic holdings and collections, their search, access and use. It will also facilitate and support bibliographic searches.
In addition, sessions and workshops on information literacy competences will be held to train users on the services offered, the appropriate use of content and resources, and to provide users with the information skills and knowledge needed to identify, locate and use information resources. During the academic year, any user may request general or specific training sessions to gain an in-depth understanding of the main services offered and the search tools available.
A real-time virtual reference service — Ask the Librarians (virtual reference service) — will be offered, enabling real-time responses to questions related to the CRAI Library and its information resources. This service will be staffed by different members of the CRAI Library team and will be available during opening hours. It will be complemented by Hipatia, a 24/7/365 chatbot service that will provide automatic answers to frequently asked questions about the CRAI Library.
Inside the campus, 350 m² of usable space on Floor 0 and 425 m² on Floor -1 have been allocated to the CRAI area. This space may be separated from the rest of the building so that it can have extended opening hours independent of the building's opening times. This area will include a freely accessible study and work room, as well as tutorial rooms, meeting rooms, guidance and mentoring rooms.
