Automotive Workshop and FÓRMULA UE

Practical activities in the field of mechanical development and the motor world are carried out in this workshop, closely linked to the Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (and some activities for the Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Systems Engineering) and the Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering in Aircraft, as well as the Master's Degree in Automotive Engineering and the Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering.

These laboratories also carry out activities associated with various projects promoted by the University, related to the different clubs and high impact projects such as that carried out by the FORMULA UE team that, year after year for more than 10 years, competes with universities from all over Europe in the Formula Student event.

The goal of this laboratory is to achieve an environment of outstanding academic character that seeks to promote the development of teams with a capacity for self-management and leaders in systems and resources, both material and human. Always with the aim of transforming what so far have been only perceived as theoretical projects, into real-world, tangible projects.

We could define this space as a factory made up of students who carry out real projects, operating based on a solid knowledge foundation of engineering skills, which are difficult to develop within purely theoretical frameworks.

The automotive laboratory has an area divided into different zones to complement what has been learned in the classroom with hands-on projects and to develop new skills.

All activities related to the motor and automotive world as well as a turbine.

The activities carried out in this workshop are:

  • Optimisation of FORMULA UEM competition engines, and others.
  • Data Acquisition Software.
  • Engine maintenance.
  • Design and fabrication of electronic circuits.
  • Assembly and implementation of a Student formula.
