The Certification guarantees the adequate implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System that promotes the continuous improvement and quality of the training offer
Universidad Europea efforts to achieve excellence in education are recognized. The Madrid+d Foundation for Knowledge has awarded the SISCAL Certification to the Faculty of Biomedical and Health Sciences, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication and the School of Architecture, Engineering and Design of Universidad Europea de Madrid, which has also obtained Institutional Accreditation. Thus, together with the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, which has held it since 2020 when it became the first University to obtain the certification, tUniversidad Europea de Madrid guarantees the proper implementation of its Internal Quality Assurance System in the centers that promotes continuous improvement and the quality of the training offer in all areas of knowledge of the official Bachelor and Master degrees it imparts.
The accreditation ceremony was attended by the rector of Universidad Europea de Madrid, Elena Gazapo; Elena de la Fuente, general secretary of Universidad Europea; Eva Icarán, vice-rector of Teaching Staff and Research; and the deans of the institution, among other prominent personalities. The Community of Madrid was represented by the general director of Universities, Nicolás Casas; Federico Morán, director of the Fundación para el Conocimiento madri+d; and Raúl de Andrés, head of the Internal Quality area of the Fundación para el Conocimiento madri+d.
Elena Gazapo has shown the commitment to quality and academic excellence of Universidad Europea: "We will continue to strengthen the external recognition of our quality by obtaining quality seals of accreditation at national and international level. We will continue to promote and improve our participation in prestigious rankings, such as the Shanghai Ranking, where our area of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences is ranked worldwide". In the same way, he wanted to highlight the role of universities in society: "We are an Institution that has great confidence in the positive impact of academic quality and how this impact translates into the training of our students, in the prestige of the Institution and in that of the Madrid higher education area. This space makes our Community one of the most attractive places for national and international students".
For her part, Eva Icarán highlighted the importance of this recognition and of teamwork to achieve academic excellence: "At Universidad Europea we continue and will continue to build together to achieve great achievements such as this one. Today we remember what we experienced four years ago, when the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences obtained the Certification and Institutional Accreditation, becoming the first University in the Community of Madrid to obtain these recognitions".
Federico Morán, who presented the Certifications and Institutional Accreditation, explained the importance of obtaining SISCAL Certification and Institutional Accreditation. He also stressed that institutions such as Universidad Europea "must be trusted because they show that they are concerned about quality and rigor, correcting any errors that may arise and continuously improving the quality of their degrees".
The general director of Universities, Nicolás Casas, put the finishing touch to the event. In his speech he stressed that the milestone reached by Universidad Europea with the Institutional Accreditation "is reserved for universities with a solid track record and solidity as Universidad Europea". He also thanked Universidad Europea for its contribution "for making the Madrid university system one of the best and highest quality in Spain and Europe".
