On June 21, 22, 23, and 24, Universidad Europea de Madrid held the Commencement Ceremonies for the Class of 2017-18 in Advanced Career and Technical Education, Bachelor's Degrees, and Master’s programs on its Villaviciosa de Odón Campus. Over 4,500 students celebrated achieving their degrees, together with their friends and families. The Commencement Ceremony for the School of Sports and Exercise Sciences and Physical Therapy was held on June 21 and featured the presence of Paralympic medalist Gema Hassen-Bey as the guest speaker.
The next day, June 22, the School of Social Sciences and Communication held its Commencement Ceremony, in which the graduates had the opportunity to hear speeches from two guest speakers who are celebrities in the business world, Carina Szpilka, Chairwoman of Adigital, and José Manuel Petisco, Director General of Cisco Spain.
On Saturday, June 23, the School of Biomedical and Health Sciences awarded diplomas to its future dentists, nurses, pharmacists, opticians, psychologists, and many more. Javier Sanz Serrulla, a full member of the National Royal Academy of Medicine of Spain, and Jesús Ignacio Meco, Director General of the Institute for Disease Research and Social Development, were the guest speakers. They shared their inspiring stories and plenty of advice for the future health professionals. On June 24, the Commencement Ceremony was held for students from the School of Architecture, Engineering & Design, with the participation of Aurora del Castillo, Vice Chairwoman of Airbus, and José Manuel Hasse, director of operations for Ingeniería de Sistemas para la Defensa de España as guest speakers for the Class of 2017-18.
