- Sustainability Day 25 has recognised the Institution for creating the first University School of Sustainability in Spain.
Universidad Europea is commitment to a more sustainable future has been recognised at the Sustainability Actions 2025 Awards. The award recognises the creation of the first University School of Sustainability in Spain, a pioneering space that brings together education and industry to accelerate the transition to a green economy.
The award was presented as part of Sustainability Day 25, promoted by Compromiso RSE and Equipos & Talento, in the Organisations and Education category. Every year, this event brings together business leaders, institutions and sustainability experts to highlight initiatives that contribute to building more responsible, inclusive and environmentally friendly models.
Universidad Europea School of Sustainability was founded in 2024 as the first university centre in Spain with a 360º vision of sustainability, aimed at training the professionals who will lead the green transformation. With a vocation to integrate academic knowledge with industry experience, it offers the country's most comprehensive portfolio of sustainability-related degrees, including a Bachelor's Degree in Environment, Master's Degrees in Renewable Energy, Environmental Management and Circular Economy, as well as expert courses and continuing education programmes.

At a time of rapid change, in which, according to the International Labour Organisation (ILO), 24 million new jobs linked to the green economy will emerge by 2030, the School responds to the market demand for versatile and committed professionals who are capable of providing real solutions to environmental and social challenges. Its academic model, based on Experiential Learning, promotes practical and active training, in close collaboration with leading companies and institutions in sustainability.
The Sustainability Actions 2025 Award comes on the first anniversary of the creation of the School of Sustainability, a year in which Universidad Europea has consolidated its leadership in training professionals who will drive the green economy. The award recognises more than a decade of work and research in sustainability, an effort that has culminated in the creation of this pioneering University School, endorsed by international seals such as the QS Stars Rating, which awards the institution five stars for teaching quality, employability and social impact, and the THE Impact ranking, which places it as the best Spanish university in compliance with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.
