There are many different types of tourism, each offering a range of services, experiences and activities with different charms and attractions for different audiences.

This sector, which continues to grow, offers a wide variety of opportunities where you can work, from hotel branding to travel agencies.

What are the different forms of tourism?

The following are an example the different area of tourism available for a career this sector:

  • Tourism focused on events: this part of tourism focuses on events and conferences, where the person in charge organises and plans conferences, fairs, festivals and other events according to the geographical area or field of business.
  • Ecotourism: is a type of tourism focused on nature and adventure. It involves taking part in exciting activities such as scuba diving, hiking or rafting among many other options.
  • Gastronomic tourism: the centre around which this type of tourism revolves is the gastronomic experience. This area is based on organising tastings, samplings and other culinary experiences related to the world of cuisine and the typical gastronomy of each geographical area.
  • Responsible tourism: professionals in this type of tourism oversee developing practices that contribute to the environment by reducing the negative environmental impact as much as possible and benefiting nearby communities.
  • Agrotourism: this involves relaxation in the countryside or rural areas. It is about developing plans for clients focused on rest and disconnection, which involves planning trips, routes of interest and activities focused on the rural environment.
  • Enotourism: a type of tourism based on the wine-growing countryside. Wine tourism is a very specific field, in which you will plan experiences that include visits to wineries, tastings and pairings in the different designations of origin or regions dedicated to wine.
