The Pharmaceutical Technology Laboratory (C303) is part of the Faculty of Biomedical and Health Sciences. Students will be able to work on biotechnological processes and pharmaceutical applications by simulating real-life situations. It is approximately 90 m2 and is located on the third floor of Building C on the Villaviciosa de Odón Campus.
The Gertrude Belle Elion Pharmaceutical Technology Laboratory is adapted and equipped for the development of techniques necessary for the design, manufacture and evaluation of pharmaceutical substances. In this laboratory, the students studying the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnological courses of Chemistry, Microbiology and Botany, among other disciplines, carry out their training. It is also the laboratory in which the training of the courses related to Pharmaceutical Technology and Biotechnological Processes are completed.
The laboratory is available to all students of the Faculty of Biomedical and Health Sciences, and its main users are the students studying the Bachelor's in Biotechnology, in Pharmacy or in Nutrition. The main courses taught here are Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Bromatology, Industrial Microbiology, Botany and Pharmacognosy, Fundamentals of Biochemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Technology, and Biotechnological Processes and Products.
