Berenice Ávila, a graduate of the Master’s in International Trade, visited the Alicante Campus with Mexico’s ambassador to Spain, Quirino Ordaz, to strengthen institutional collaboration
Universidad Europea de Valencia celebrates the appointment of Berenice Ávila, an alumna of the university, as honorary consul of Mexico in the province of Alicante. Ávila completed the Senior Management Programme (2006–2007) and the International Master’s in Foreign Trade (2009–2010) at Universidad Europea, gaining an education that has supported her career in international settings.
A law graduate of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Berenice Ávila has worked in foreign trade, logistics and client management. She subsequently broadened her experience to include healthcare, real estate and volunteering. Her multidisciplinary background and international experience have been key to taking on this new institutional role.
Following her recent appointment, the honorary consul made an official visit to Universidad Europea de Valencia’s Alicante Campus, accompanied by Mexico’s ambassador to Spain, Quirino Ordaz. The visit reflects a shared commitment to strengthening collaboration between Universidad Europea and Mexican institutions through joint academic and professional initiatives.
During the visit, they were welcomed by the rector of Universidad Europea de Valencia, Rosa Sanchidrián Pardo. Together, they discussed opportunities for international cooperation, particularly in on-campus and online postgraduate education, innovation and knowledge transfer.
The visit included a tour of the Health Sciences campus, where the guests saw the Complex Simulation facilities and Simulated Hospital, as well as specialised laboratories. These spaces reflect Universidad Europea’s academic model, which offers students an education that is highly practical, innovative and closely aligned with professional practice.
The visitors also toured the campus classrooms, where undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes are taught. The visit highlighted Universidad Europea’s educational model, built on advanced technology, teaching innovation and experiential learning to prepare highly qualified professionals for a global environment.
The meeting reinforces Universidad Europea de Valencia’s commitment to the international reach of its academic community and to strategic partnerships that contribute to economic, social and cultural development between the Valencian Community and Mexico.
