Numerous students have taken part in the three-day immersion programme to gain first-hand insight into how to enhance their professional profile and stand out in recruitment processes as the best possible candidates

This third edition of the Interview Lab, organised by Juanjo Ordás, Laura García and Ana Francisco – Job Hunters from the Impulsa Unit at Universidad Europea – took place on 17, 18 and 19 February, providing students with essential insights into entering the job market and connecting their young talent with today’s business world.
Thanks to this innovative project, and in collaboration with LinkedIn, students from various fields of study took part in three sessions of a unique training experience, combining strategic analysis, professional simulation and real-world practice in hyper-realistic environments. Furthermore, they put their practical skills and aptitudes into practice through the full experience of a recruitment process.
The first day, held in the refurbished CRAI Library, enabled students to understand the recruitment process from a recruiter’s perspective. They also learnt how to include the necessary information on their CVs, how to apply for roles through current job channels, and the basic steps for conducting themselves appropriately during a telephone interview.

During the second session, students were able to experience a mock interview with a recruiter in a simulated setting, with an actor playing the role of the interviewer under the guidance of the Employability team, who were responsible for replicating the various challenges encountered in real-life situations. The students honed their analytical skills, responsiveness and adaptability. This challenging scenario, held at Universidad Europea Simulation Hospital, concluded with a workshop focusing on lessons learned from the simulation, exploring in depth the questions one should ask, how to demonstrate interest, build trust and navigate group dynamics.

The highlight was the final day, which took place once again at the CRAI Library in Villaviciosa de Odón, where the students took part in real-life interviews with María Eugenia Renaldi, Head of Academics Iberia and LinkedIn Talent Solutions. This session provided the perfect finale to three days of immersive experience, during which the students were able to apply everything they had learnt to become part of a real professional environment. Afterwards, the students received coaching from Renaldi on how to show enthusiasm and a proactive attitude, the keys to connecting with the interviewer, and how to strategically highlight their profile.

By launching initiatives of this kind, Universidad Europea is reinforcing its commitment to career guidance, the development of digital skills and supporting students as they enter the world of work.
