The travelling stage of the Teatro Real in Madrid has welcomed new students with an activity organised by the Vice-Rectorate for Students and University Life of Universidad Europea.
The Villaviciosa de Odón campus of the Universidad Europea de Madrid has become the setting for an opera and zarzuela recital. The Universidad Europea hosted the Carroza del Real, the travelling stage of the Teatro Real de Madrid, which welcomed the students and reaffirmed the Institution's commitment to the integration of culture and the arts in the academic life of its students.
The meeting, where students were able to enjoy the comprehensive training that goes beyond the classroom promoted by Universidad Europea, was a reflection of the University's commitment to academic excellence and cultural enrichment. The activity was also attended by the CEO and President of Universidad Europea, Otilia de la Fuente; the Rector of Universidad Europea de Madrid, Elena Gazapo; and the Vice-Rector for Students and University Life of Universidad Europea, Elia Cambón; among other prominent members of the university community.
The recital featured four young talents from the Teatro Real's Crescendo Programme: pianist Samuel Martin, mezzo-soprano Laura Orueta, baritone Enrique Torres and soprano Dragana Paunovic. Crescendo is a programme launched in 2021 and in which more than 80 promising artists have already participated, which supports the artistic and professional development of future operatic talents.
Through initiatives such as the one organised by the Vice-Rectorate for Students and University Life of Universidad Europea, the institution seeks to foster not only the intellectual growth of its students, but also their artistic sensitivity and their active participation in top-level cultural events, thus contributing to a complete and transformative educational experience.
