What is it?

If time is already scarce, we know that for elite sportspeople it’s even scarcer. We understand that leading a high level sports career and also having a quality academic training is no mean feat. Therefore, at Universidad Europea we want to accompany you on your path to building your future and achieving your dreams, so that you can make your studies compatible with a successful career.

This is a study grant for 30% of the tuition fees, for sportspeople who register for the 2021/2022 academic year, in any degree (except excluded degrees*) from Universidad Europea, both on-campus and online.

So, if you take advantage of Universidad Europea’s PLAN COMPITE you will also have:

  • A personal tutor who shall provide you with personalised academic monitoring adapted to your specific needs.

  • The possibility of attending any of the class groups, available whenever it is convenient for you, as well as using UNIVERSITY technologies through the virtual study and distance communication platforms.

  • Free use of the sports facilities.

  • The possibility of carrying out tests to help you to improve your sports performance, in the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences laboratories, which offer state-of-the-art equipment and the highest quality technology.

Athletes who meet the following criteria shall be eligible for the PLAN

  • National highly ranked or high performing sportspeople  who can provide evidence of their level.

  • Foreign highly ranked or high-performing sportspeople who can prove their level with a certificate issued by the corresponding sports federation or similar organisation where their sports license has been issued in their country.

Deadlines

DAN or DAR sportspeople who register for the 2021/2022 academic year up to one month before the start date of the programme and who meet the legal requirements for access to the desired qualification shall be eligible for the PLAN.

How to apply for this scholarship/grant

The application for the grant should be made using the application form and sent by e-mail to the admissions department of Universidad Europea to the following addresses, as appropriate:

Applications must be submitted with the following documentation:

  • Curriculum vitae of the student/sportsperson, covering both their sports and academic records
  • Highly-Ranked or High-Performing Sportsperson Certificate

After the Evaluation Committee's assessment, if it is favourable, the Universidad Europea Admissions Department shall inform you of the allocation of the grant by means of an admission letter signed by the Evaluation Committee.

Criteria to be taken into account for the award:

The following criteria, in order of relevance, shall be taken into account in the evaluation process of applications:

  • Qualification as a high-level sportsperson in Olympic modalities, and number of years in possession.
  • Results obtained at international level.
  • Academic record.
  • Number of participations with the National Team.
  • Participation in top-level national competitions and results obtained at national level.
  • Qualification as a high performing sportsperson in Olympic modalities and number of years in possession.
  • Sporting progress and level of improvement.
  • Social responsibility.
  • Involvement in fair play actions and dissemination of the principles of the Olympic movement
