Admission Process

Key points before starting the process

Only student applications with high school diplomas in Health Sciences will be considered.

Your mother tongue must be Spanish. Otherwise, you must pass our Spanish test at the B2 level (Cambridge levels, Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

Students participating in the admissions process for the Medical Degree at Universidad Europea de Madrid 2021/22 through a national or international pre-university entrance exam cannot request for or obtain any kind of recognition of credits/subjects taken before at any university or centre.

1. Complete the application

The first step is to fill out an online application depending on your eligibility, and arrange to take the admission tests for the Bachelor’s in Medicine at the next available date. Apply online.

2. Complete the application

  • Once you have completed your online application, you will receive an email with access to the pre-student portal. You can use this online portal to pay for the admissions tests’ fee (€150).
  • By paying the fee for the admissions tests, you confirm that you agree to participate in Universidad Europea’s admissions process for the Bachelor's in Medicine. This amount will not be refunded under any circumstances.

3. Exam dates

In order to request access to the admissions process for the Bachelor's in Medicine, you must reserve a date for the admission tests. The next available date will automatically be assigned to you once you complete your application.

The next scheduled test date is:

  • 23 January.

4. Competence and Skills Test

You must take it online before you can make an appointment for the remaining tests.

This test will assess skills/abilities related to:

  • Intellectual work.
  • Attitudes towards work.
  • Attitudes towards cooperation and teamwork.

It lasts approximately 30 minutes and consists of:

  • 116 general skills questions.
  • 23 questions on study habits.

Upon completing the application, you will receive the codes for accessing the competence and skills test.

5. Take the admissions exams

English test

All students wishing to participate in the admissions process for the Bachelor's in Medicine must take this test. This tests your English level by assessing:

  • Reading comprehension.
  • Knowledge of grammar and vocabulary.
  • Listening comprehension.
Spanish test

All students whose mother tongue is not Spanish must take it, regardless of the language certificates they may have.

This tests your Spanish level by assessing:

  • Reading comprehension.
  • Knowledge of grammar and vocabulary.
  • Listening comprehension.

Documentation

You will have to submit the academic documentation—ideally, before taking the tests, but otherwise, as soon as possible—tonuevosalumnosmedicina@universidadeuropea.es mentioning your name, surname(s) and ID number in the subject.

What academic documentation do I need to submit?

  • Advanced Vocational Training. The certified qualification and academic certificate of your two years of Advanced Vocational Training (CFGS) as well as the degree fees.

Criteria for assessing candidates

Only applications from students who have submitted all documentation before the deadline and by the means established will be assessed.

The admissions exams will be assessed, together with the following criteria:

Criteria for students coming from Advanced Vocational Training

  • Average mark in the first academic year of Advanced Vocational Training: 90%
  • English test: 10%.

The Admissions Committee will obtain the students’ average mark based on these criteria.

*Only candidates coming from the field of Health Sciences can opt for this.

General knowledge test

This general knowledge test is only necessary for international applicants who are registering to enrol in the first year of their bachelor's degree in Spain and who do not have a UNED credential (1). They must therefore authorise their High School Diploma (bachillerato) via the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.

To pass this test the student must obtain a mark of 5 or higher.

The student’s admission does not depend solely on the result obtained in this test. The exam will determine the level of support the student requires.

(1) WARNING: Students who can apply to the University using the UNED credential are those who come from the following educational systems: Germany, Andorra, Austria, International Baccalaureate, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechia, China, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark, European Schools, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Romania, Sweden and Switzerland, and any other State with which an international agreement is signed on a reciprocal basis. 

6. Publication of the admitted candidates

The results will not be communicated by mail or telephone. Instead, from 4pm on the day corresponding to their admission date, students will have to check their status through the pre-student portal.

Admission dates:

  • 25 May 2021 from 4:00 p.m. For applications received before June.
  • 14 July 2021 from 4:00 p.m. For applications to the admission test on 10 July.

Once inside the portal you will have to click on GO TO APPLICATION. One of the following statuses will appear within your application:

  1. If the RESERVE step is highlighted in blue it means you have been accepted into the Bachelor's in Medicine.
  2. If the IN PROCESS step is highlighted in blue it means you are on the Waiting List for the Bachelor's in Medicine.
  3. If the APPLICATION DENIED step is highlighted in blue, it means that you have not been accepted into the Bachelor's in Medicine.

The published result cannot be subject to appeal.

10% of total spaces will be reserved on the admission list for the test in June.

7. Reserve your place and enrol

RESERVING YOUR PLACE

If you are one of the admitted candidates, you have 5 business days from the communication of admission to make a payment of €3,970, which includes reserving your place (€3,200) and opening your academic file (€770) through the pre-student portal.

COMPLETE YOUR ENROLMENT

Students who are accepted into the University for the first time without subjects already recognised from another centre must enrol in the full course of 60 credits.

Once admission is confirmed, you must digitally sign all the necessary documents to complete your enrolment.  To do this, you will receive a link via email that will direct you to a digital signature platform where you will find the following documents:

  • Degree enrolment application form
  • Direct debit form.
  • General enrolment terms and conditions.
  • Informed consent form for the Legal Admission Requirement.
  • Consent form for practical work.
  • Informed consent form on the language conditions for the clinical internships.
  • Document waiving recognition of subjects.

Please contact your advisor if you encounter any problems with the digital signature platform.

They must also must provide proof of compliance with the legal requirements for the programme they are interested in. These documents can be submitted in the following ways:

  • If your documents include a digital signature you must upload them to the pre-student portal before completing your registration.
  • In person at the Vice-Rector’s office.
  • By post to the following address:

If the candidate fails to reserve their place and complete enrolment within 5 business days following admission, their spot will automatically go to one of the candidates in the waiting list, strictly in the order determined by the Admissions Committee.

Regardless of the method of payment used, the student must submit a duly completed direct debit form.

The time limit for late enrolment in a trimester is 6 weeks. At the end of this period, it is up to the dean of each Faculty or School to authorise a student’s enrolment.
