II Annual Sustainability Innovation Challenge

Turn a sustainable idea into a real project.

Move from ideas to action and become an agent of change

Work alongside leading companies solving real challenges of sustainability, innovation and social impact.

The Escuela de Sostenibilidad of Universidad Europea and the Fundación Universidad Europea present the II Annual Sustainability Innovation Challenge, connecting students and alumni with leading companies to co‑create innovative solutions.

Whether you are part of the Universidad Europea or any other institution, you can participate, apply your knowledge in a real-world environment, receive expert mentoring, and develop your idea with the support of the Foundation.

What is it?

It's an experience where students and alumni work in teams to solve real-world challenges posed by companies committed to sustainability.

During the challenge, you'll develop innovative solutions with the support of mentors, experts, and industry professionals.

How does it work?

The process consists of four phases:

1

If you want to participate in the challenge, the first step is to complete your registration through the form. Once submitted, you will receive an email with instructions to continue the process. Each team member must complete this registration individually.

2

Build your team

Once registered, form your team, choose a captain, and select the challenge that motivates you the most. It’s important that all members share the same vision and are aligned with the proposal you want to develop together.

3

Present your project

Once your proposal is defined, the team captain must complete the form you will automatically receive after the initial registration. This step is exclusively the captain’s responsibility, as they will submit the proposal on behalf of the entire team.

4

Evaluation and selection of winners

After submitting your proposal, the only thing left is to wait for the results. The Evaluation Committee, made up of experts from the universities and the Transformative Partners, will review all submissions and select one winning proposal for each challenge.

Who is it for?

This challenge is open to undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral students, and alumni from all universities.

Team requirements:

  • Teams must consist of 2 to 5 members.
  • Teams must include students or alumni from at least two different degree programs within the same university.
  • A single student or alumnus may participate in multiple teams and submit multiple ideas across different challenges.

Participation is compatible with academic activities. The estimated workload is 2 to 4 hours per week.

What are the challenges?

Our partner companies —our Transformative Partners— lead a challenge aimed at generating real impact in sustainability. This space grows and evolves continuously: new allies will join over time, and with them, new challenges will emerge, opening opportunities to imagine, create, and transform.
