On January 28, the Universidad Europea held a solemn ceremony to present medals and diplomas for the new PhD Professors, Full Professors and Associate Professors of the Universidad Europea de Madrid. With these awards, the Universidad Europea shows its gratitude for the efforts, perseverance, passion and academic commitment of the event’s protagonists, who will now become part of the educational project of the Universidad Europea.
The Juan Mayorga Sports Center at the Villaviciosa de Odón Campus was the venue chosen to present the medals and diplomas, an event chaired by Universidad Europea Rector Isabel Fernández. The Academic Department Heads were entrusted with presenting medals to the new PhD Professors, and the Rector presented diplomas to the new Full Professors, and the medals and diplomas to the new Full Professors. The prize winners were accompanied by their friends and family to share in this well-deserved recognition.
In addition to the Rector, the ceremony was attended by the General Secretary of the Universidad Europea, Elena de la Fuente, and the Vice Rector for Research and director of the School of Doctoral Studies and Research, Sergio Calvo, both members of the Platform Party. Another distinguished guest was Itziar Eraña, the most senior professor at the Universidad Europea de Madrid, widow of Juan Mayorga and a new PhD in Psychology, who spoke on behalf of her colleagues.
“Being a Full Professor is the utmost responsibility and maximum academic honor that can be achieved in a career. It requires you to take greater care with what you teach, the faculty and the students require you to give them your best so they have the knowledge and cutting edge of science, of Law in my case”, stressed the new Full Professor of Law at the Universidad Europea, Ana María Ovejero, after receiving her medal and diploma..
