According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health with regards to the latest entrance exams for specialized medical training, the Selective Physician Exam 2017-18 (MIR), Universidad Europea had the highest percentage of students who passed the cutoff grade in Spain. Moreover, of the eight private Spanish universities whose students took the exam this year, Universidad Europea students were awarded the second highest number of posts.
This year, of the 159 Medicine students who were eligible to take the exam, 158 took the exam. Of that number, 157 students passed the cutoff grade (99.4%), and a total of 83 students (52.86%) were awarded a post in the National Health Service (SNS). The School of Biomedical and Health Sciences has surpassed the pass ratio from the previous exam (98.4%), close to achieving the full pass rate recorded last year for pharmacy students.
The students who will take up the posts in the state health care sector this year will fulfill their dream, just like alumni Íñigo Melchor Corcostegui and Miguel Sáez Alegre did in 2017, attaining number 115 and number 14, respectively, among the students with the highest grades in Spain.
