This year six Spanish basketball teams will take part in a new edition of the Eurocupchampionship. The teams who qualified include Montakit Fuenlabrada, which will play its first group B match on Wednesday October 12 against German team Alba Berlin, after the groups were reorganized.
A week later, on October 19, the team from Madrid will play host to one of the best teams in the group and championship, Russian club Kimkhi BK. During this match the clubs will have the hands-on participation of three teachers and two alumni from the Universidad Europea. The Kimkhi BK coaching staff includes Alejandro García, professor at the School of Sports and Exercise Sciences, who was appointed the new trainer at the Russian club on July 21.
As for Montakit Fuenlabrada, its coaching staff includes Sergio Vázquez, director of the Master in Physical Therapy and the club’s physical therapist, and José Ramón Cuspinera, Sports and Exercise Sciences professor and coach of Montakit Fuenlabrada. During this year’s European championship the Spanish club also has two Universidad Europea Physical Therapy Alumni, Jaime Almazán and Javier Rubio.
