On June 16, Universidad Europea inaugurated the Transition studies center in order to establish a meeting point for researchers specializing in this era of Spanish history.
The opening ceremony, held at the Resource Center for Learning and Research Library, was attended by Rafael Arias Salgado, a key figure in the Spanish transition; Sergio Calvo, Vice-rector of Research at the Universidad Europea; Joaquín García-Romanillos, director of the Transition Chair and Elena Gómez, director of the “Dulce Chacón” Resource Center for Learning and Research Library.
The guests at the inauguration consider that this center “responds to the need for Universidad Europea to contribute to conserving and disseminating a key event in the democratic and constitutional history of Spain among students and society as a whole”.
The center aims to become a benchmark, not just for the Universidad Europea or the Laureate International Universities network, but for anyone interested in this historic event. The Transition Studies Center, located at the “Dulce Chacón” Resource Center for Learning and Research Library, is associated with the Universidad Europea Transition Chair, directed by Joaquín García-Romanillos.
