The Villaviciosa de Odón Campus was chosen to host a visit from the first Startup Roadshow, a project that aims to promote entrepreneurial spirit among university students through debate and first-hand experience with over 500 students taking part.
Visitors included representatives from the startups behind the event –Carlos Pierre, CEO & Founder of Badi; Alex Lopera, COO & Co-founder of Verse; Jordi Llonch, CEO & Founder of Sharing Academy; and Álvaro Mancilla, CEO & Founder of Workkola– and that have promoted the tour in collaboration with imaginBank. The debate focused on whether “you believe in your idea and in yourself” to start a business “without dying in the attempt”, as the speakers commented. The tour activities also included outdoor sessions to promote networking and exchanging ideas.
Attending on behalf of Universidad Europea, Ana María Ovejero, Vice Dean of the Business and Legal department, stressed the role the university plays in training the professionals of the future “who respond to the demands of a more global and complex society and world.” She also highlighted the importance of ethical commitment when starting up a business to “innovate and generate a positive impact on the environment.”
