Universidad Europea has become the first center to offer a United Nations Road Safety Expert Degree in Spain. The Chairman of CIFAL Madrid – RACE, Carmelo Sanz de Barros, has awarded the UN flag to the president of Universidad Europea, Conrado Briceño, a distinction that underlines the academic institution’s commitments to the principles and goals of the United Nations.
The recognition took place on June 22, during the graduation ceremony for the first graduating class, a total of 17 students from six nationalities, who are now Experts in Road Safety Administration and Management, a qualification which Universidad Europea, the Real Automóvil Club de España – as manager of the CIFAL Madrid Center – and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) have promoted together.
As stated by Universidad Europea president Conrado Briceño, “starting today, our students will coexist every day with the United Nations flag, a symbol that underlines our commitment to this body and to its principles and goals, in addition to our commitment to contribute as an institution of higher education to transmitting is values internationally.” Moreover, the Chairman of CIFAL Madrid and RACE, Carmelo Sanz de Barros, added that “through RACE we can have a world-class training center to contribute to the education of professionals who are experts in road safety. We are grateful for this agreement with Universidad Europea to be able to increase this training at the highest level.”
