As part of the collaboration agreement with Alpinultras, the professor from the School of Sports and Exercise Sciences at the Universidad Europea, Vicente Clemente, has conducted assessments during the second race of the Alpinultras circuit: the Ultratrail del Vall D'Aneu, which involves a 92 km route through the Pyrenees of Lleida and a 7344 m climb.
After the preliminary results of the first circuit race held at the Emmona ultratrail, (130 km with a 10,000 m climb), specific tests were included to analyze the dehydration of runners on these ultra-resistance races, as well as a battery of psychophysiological tests conducted before the event.
These tests aim to identify the parameters that define performance during ultra-resistance mountain races, distinguishing different areas of analysis: cortical, physiological, anatomical, psychological, nutritional, dental and training. And all with the dual aim of improving the performance and health of mountain runners.
