On October 20, the Universidad Europea and the SEDISA Foundation inaugurated the 4th Edition of the Master’s Degree in Healthcare Management and Planning at the Universidad Europea Alcobendas Campus assembly room. As with the last edition, the academic program had over 30 health sector graduates and professionals.
The Master aims to meet the needs of Spanish healthcare with trained professionals who address new challenges and demands required by healthcare management and planning. The inauguration was attended by Joaquín Estévez Lucas, chairman of the Spanish Society of Health Executives; Jesús Sanz Villorejo, director of the Universidad Europea University Dental Clinic and academic director; José Luis Martínez, founding partner and joint director at Vesalius; and Elena Gazapo, dean of the Universidad Europea School of Biomedical and Health Sciences.
Sanz Villarejo highlighted “the need to emphasize transparency and good governance”. He also stressed that “it is very important that today’s executives can make decisions with flexibility and speed, adapting to changes in the environment”. According to the dean of the School of Biomedical and Health Sciences, “the health sector in Spain is transforming and requires executives to have the skills necessary to enable sustainability, excellence and continuous creation of value for organizations, professionals and patients”.
