The Auditorium of the medieval city of Torun, in Poland, known as CKK Jordanki, a project by the Canarian architect and professor at our University’s School of Architecture, Fernando Menis, has been chosen as one of the 18 finalists for the WAF World Architecture Festival award for the best cultural building in the world 2016. According to newspaper El Día, “the Menis Auditorium will be one of the finalist works of the World Architecture Festival (WAF), the biggest architecture festival today, along with works by Zaha Hadid, Riegler Riewe and Schmidt Hammer Lassen”.
This festival brings together the world’s architectural community to offer master classes by the industry’s most influential figures, together with the most famous critics and an exhibition of the most select, quality projects of recent years. This year the World Architecture Festival 2016, previously held in Barcelona and Singapore, will be held from November 16 to 18 at the Berlin Arena, Germany, next to the Spree river pool designed by Fernando Menis himself.
