Grupo Ingesport, which runs the GO fit sports centers, has confirmed the participation of the Universidad Europea de Madrid and Coventry University (UK) in the GO fit LAB project for research and the application of these studies to real-life test cases, in order to present results and foster best practices in sports.
The Universidad Europea will contribute two doctoral candidates to the research laboratory located on the premises of CDM GO fit Vallehermoso (Madrid), one of the largest sports centers in Europe. The doctoral candidates will work in the research unit, where they will develop the implementation of sports studies in GO fit centers. The Universidad Europea students will have the opportunity to complete their academic training and acquire work experience in a leading health and sports company.
The GO fit LAB is intended to develop best practices in sports for an implementation favoring a change to sustainable behavior in sedentary people. The project will be used to develop better intervention and training programs to give a better response to the qualifications, knowledge, skills and competencies of the public.
The project will be led by the research director of the GO fit LAB, Professor Alfonso Jiménez, Executive Director and Professor of Exercise Science & Health in the Center for Research in Applied Biological and Exercise Sciences of Coventry University and former professor and Dean of the School of Sports and Exercise Sciences at the Universidad Europea.
