The Universidad Europea School of Biomedical and Health Sciences organizes the 1st Seminar on Biopharmaceutical Employability and Career Guidance

On October 20, the Universidad Europea School of Biomedical and Health Sciences organized the 1st Seminar on Biopharmaceutical Employability and Career Guidance as part of the 4th Edition of the Added Value Seminar. The aim of the event was to promote teaching teams by integrating areas of knowledge, developing cross-disciplinary skills and approaching professions with activities that enrich the resume of our students.

The activities included an analysis of the state of research in Spain and the career prospects for a researcher, the students present received guidance on the FIR, a presentation of the experiences of a resident, the situation after completing studies, the most in-demand career opportunities and the current situation of the biotechnology industry. Nursing students received clinical experience from tutors. Psychology students attended writing workshops to improve their scientific style, and representatives from CTO advised medicine students on preparing for the MIR exam.

The employability and career guidance sessions were offered by representatives from the research field, and pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry professionals: Dr. Daniel Hormigo, director of the Universidad Europea Pharmacy and Biotechnology Department; Dr. Maria Teresa Coiras, Universidad Europea professor and Researcher at the AIDS Immunopathology Unit of the Carlos III Health Institute; Isabel García Santisteban, from AFIR; Ana García Cañas, Universidad Europea Microbiology professor; Adrien Bataud, former student of the double degree in Pharmacy and Biotechnology and FAMAR Project Manager; Alicia Govantes Esteso, Technical Director at Laboratorios Normon S.A and Eleuterio Lombardo, Scientific Director at TiGenix.
