The Universidad Europea presents its Teaching Innovation Awards

01 aug 2016

On July 22, the Universidad Europea presented its Teaching Innovation Awards, in the eighth ceremony since they were introduced in 2004, to recognize and support the work and innovation of the University’s professors, contributing to the acknowledgment of their talent in the context of Teaching Innovation.

These awards are intended to stimulate innovation in the classroom and recognize the work of professors who adapt their teaching methods to the requirements of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) through sharing good practice in teaching innovation in any of the following areas: experiential learning, competency development and assessment, participatory learning methods, technology for education, and education in the values of sustainable development.

Each year, three projects are recognized with a first prize of €3,000, a second prize of €1,000 and a third prize of €1,000. On this occasion, the winners were Álvaro Fernández Luna's team, whose project “University sports consulting: seeking a new student-business partnership model” received the First Prize; “Integrating basic subjects through gamification in Health Sciences”, led by Iván Rodríguez Martín (Second Prize); and “The combination of active methodologies and lectures, rather than only lectures”, directed by Pablo César García-Sánchez (Third Prize).
