Sunday, October 2, saw the 1st Charity Race against cancer held in Valencia, and the Universidad Europea de Valencia got involved in the event. Coordinated by the Student Services and Marketing departments, non-teaching staff, professors and students had the chance to show their involvement at a celebratory sporting event organized by the Cancer Association of Valencia (AECC).
The University installed marquees at the finish line with volunteer Physical Therapy students offering recovery massages to the runners in the various races held. Even our running team, made up of UEV students, professor and personnel, got the chance to recover under the care of the Physio volunteers.
And those without the strength to complete the 5k race took part in a more relaxed walk around Valencia to bring visibility to the illness. Group spinning sessions were held at the Plaça de l’Ajuntament square. In short, a day to show the union and involvement of UEV.
