The Universidad Europea and Exeltis Healthcare have signed a cooperation agreement to create an educational Chair of women’s health. The agreement was signed by the Academic Director of the School of Doctoral Studies and Research, Sergio Calvo Fernández, and the General Manager of the pharmaceutical company, Alberto Fábregas Gil.
The creation of this ‘Exeltis Chair of women’s health’ will establish and develop research activities in the field of women’s health. The agreement will also support Doctoral candidates working in similar areas. This project will facilitate the joint development of educational activities and activities designed to increase the visibility of the signatory institutions.
Depending on the specific study programs, a program of activities will be established each year in the syllabus, and supervised and approved by a Monitoring Committee consisting of members of Exeltis and Universidad Europea appointed by the rector. The program of activities will focus on three lines of work: an R&D section, with the creation of research scholarships on women’s health through different scientific societies of gynecology; generating and disseminating knowledge connected to the Chair; and training courses for gynecologists and pharmacists on subjects relating to women’s health.
For its part, the Universidad Europea will provide the pharmaceutical company with a multidisciplinary team consisting of the directors of the Chair and professors and researchers from the departments involved. Exeltis Healthcare, part of the Chemo Group, with over 300 proprietary treatments for women at every stage of life, will contribute the financial support to develop and execute the Chair’s activities.
