On October 21, the Universidad Europea hosted at its Alcobendas Campus the presentation of the first edition of the “Universum Most Attractive Employers - Professionals 2016 in Spain” study, with results based on a questionnaire among 5,200 professionals in Spain. The questionnaire, compiled by specialist company Employer Branding Universum, indicates Google, Apple, Inditex and Airbus Group as the favorite companies for Spanish professionals to work for.
The report findings reveal how Spanish professionals show special interest for major brands. Of the ten most attractive companies to work for among Business Science and Humanities profiles, six are companies with strong consumer brands; meanwhile, technical profiles show less interest for major consumer brands and aim for high-tech companies and major engineering firms. In fact, professionals specializing in Engineering, IT and Natural Sciences only choose two major consumer brands among their ten favorites: Apple and Nestlé.
These results were presented at an event that was also a meeting point for Employer Branding experts, who shared experiences and tips on how to attract talent to their organizations. In this regard, Rafael Garavito, Country Manager at Universum España, recalled that “communicating in an effective and consistent way with young people needs a clear, coordinated Employer Branding strategy”. “The starting point for any company must be EVP, a high value proposal as an employer, which is developed or adapted according to the preferences of the group we want to attract”, he added.
Along this same line, Almudena Rodríguez Tarodo, Universidad Europea professor, explained that “no company that wants the best professional can ignore investing in its employer branding”.
Finally, the event also included the participation of Marta Muñiz, dean of the School of Social Sciences and Communication at the Universidad Europea, who stressed how studies of this kind enable educational institutions to “discover key aspects of the world in which our students interact”.
