The close of the 8th Edition of the Startup Programme, organized by the University-Business Foundation (FUE) and Junior Achievement, was held on May 10 in the Fundación Rafael del Pino auditorium. The 14 projects presented included S&R Solutions, from the Universidad Europea , which received the ASCRI-Viability Prize and the PwC Foundation Prize.
Startup Programme was conceived to provide a response to the challenges and needs of university students, to encourage their business initiative, introduce them to the job market, and turn them into generators of employment. This year, 205 students from 24 Spanish universities participated. “Bioo,” a project for generating electricity through photosynthesis created by students from La Salle Centro Universitario, was chosen to represent Spain in the European final, which will be held in Bucharest in July.
S&R SOLUTIONS received a cash prize of 1,000 euros for each of the awards it received in order to implement their project to use drones to rescue lost people by locating them through their cell phones or personal electronic devices.
