Open Business Day celebration

19 jun 2017

Last Thursday the “Open Business Day” took place at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, an event where we enjoyed the presence of some of the best professionals of the sector such as Emilio Butragueño, who was in charge of the event opening, encouraging the students currently in their final stage of the school year, and showing the upcoming students the objectives of the Real Madrid Graduate School - Universidad Europea - to not only educate students, but to educate people.

Marisa Sáenz, Director of the MBA in Sports Entities Direction, attended the Open Business Day to talk about the basics of the Master's. Olivier Bara, Venue Management Director at Real Madrid F.C. was also there, and taught the students with the help of a case study, about how to make sports venues profitable when matches aren't being held.

He explained how in the latest years there has been a transformation of football stadiums into leisure and business centres and how they are becoming more and more popular as event locations in order to improve their profitability (with concerts and events). The attendees were able to share their ideas and point of views about the possible alternatives of what a stadium could be used for.

Marisa Sáenz explained the objectives of the Master's, how the work experience is planned, the keys to improve every year and other important aspects for the future students of the Graduate School.

The day ended with networking drinks where former and current students had the chance to catch up.
