On October 18, the Villaviciosa de Odón Campus hosted an event at which Juan Morote Sarrión took office as the new Rector of Universidad Europea de Madrid, a position he had previously held at the Universidad Europea de Valencia. This appointment is a clear commitment to fostering a connection between the academic and professional worlds, and therefore received institutional backing by authorities from the academic field such as the Secretary General of Universities at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, Jorge Sáinz González, and the Director of the Madrid+d Knowledge Foundation, Jesús Sánchez Martos.
The recently appointed rector, Juan Morote Sarrión, has vast experience in managing various educational institutions, including the Universidad Europea de Valencia, which he joined as Rector in May 2016. Morote has a PhD in Law from the Universitat de València and an MBA Executive. He was also Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Business Management. Before joining the Universidad Europea de Valencia, he was manager and Vice Rector for Strategic Planning and Quality at the Universidad Católica de Valencia and Director of the Institute for Strategic International Studies, among other management roles at the institution. He was previously Vice Dean of the School of Social, Legal and Communication Sciences at the Universidad Cardenal Herrera CEU in Valencia.
Universidad Europea de Madrid welcomes the new Rector during the Inauguration of the new Academic Year 2017/2018, a new phase in which Juan Morote will continue to consolidate the educational model of the institution, among other objectives. The priorities of the new rector also include working to reinforce the institution’s connections with the business and institutional world.
